The FIERI Bronx Westchester Scholarship Fund was established in 1985 to enable and encourage
gifted students to pursue their educational goals. Each year FIERI offers two scholarships in the
amount of $5000 to help defray the increasing costs and expenses of a college education. One of
the scholarships is generously funded through a grant from the Generoso Pope Foundation. For

FIERI members and Italian-American students living in or attending a college in the Bronx or
Westchester are eligible for the scholarships. The FIERI Scholarship Committee encourages
part-time and evening students to apply. The criteria that is used by the Scholarship Committee to
select recipients of the Scholarship awards is set forth in the application.
Award Ceremony
An award ceremony is held each year on the last Sunday in April at the Bronx Zoo. The award
recipients will be notified accordingly. Please note that the award recipients will be required to
attend the award ceremony.
