Our Mission                Celebrating, Preserving, & Honoring Our True Heritage         What does being Italian-American mean to you?  To us at FIERI Bronx Westchester, it means many things such as having a strong work ethic, and a commitment to core values such as honesty, integrity and respect.  Our culture also teaches us to celebrate life in a special way.  It was fun growing up in an Italian-American household.  Our parents, grandparents, and great grandparents were heroes to us.  They showed us this wonderful culture even as they worked so hard to put food on our table and as they struggled so that many of us could attend college and accomplish what they could not.  They felt a responsibility to provide for us and help us climb the social ladder.  We have achieved so much because of their sacrifices.  We are professionals and small business owners in                          our communities.  We sit on the boards of Fortune 500 companies and we are leaders in                      politics, the arts, education and the sciences.   What is our responsibility to them?  It is to                      never forget them by preserving our true culture.  We know what it means to be an                                Italian-American but many Americans do not.  Many associate it with crime and other          f                  foolish stereotypes.  In fact, Italian-Americans have made so many amazing contributions                       to society which have gone unnoticed.   In FIERI Bronx Westchester, we make a                     commitment to honor and celebrate our true heritage.  We will not let it fade away and we will not allow it to be misrepresented.   It is the least we can do for our parents, grandparents, and great grandparents who did so much for us.  In addition, in coming together for this cause we try to create a sense of fellowship among us and help guide each other along our career paths through establishing networking relationships.  Our mission can be summarized with four clear objectives:                   Our Four Main Objectives To preserve the Italian culture and encourage the study of Italian and Italian-American history To foster the values of higher education and personal achievement in young Italian- Americans To facilitate career opportunities and networking relationships for young professionals To promote a positive image of Italian-Americans in the mass media and popular culture
